Swimming Lesson Information

Azionaqua offers swimming lessons to its members based on a nationally recognized program which we have modified to suit the needs of our members.  Lessons are available to all members, ages four and older as of June 9, 2008.  For the 2008 season, we also be offering Diving Lessons on a limited basis.  A schedule of diving lessons will be posted when it becomes available (expect it to coincide with the swimming lesson schedule). 

 

Our program is based on skill, and not dependent on age or size, although we group children of similar ages together for our convenience and their benefit.  The stages of our program begin with station 1 for beginners who are unable to place their face in the water, and progress through station 10 for those who are able to complete several laps of the pool.  For children who are able to complete several laps of the pool confidently, we recommend they try the swim team.

The cost of swimming lessons is $45 per session, per child.

Dates and Times

Registration

Swimming lesson registration will be held June 9 at 10:30am and will continue until all spots are full.  Swim lesson sign up must be done in person at the pool.  Registration over the phone will not be taken under any circumstances.  If you cannot attend the registration date we suggest you have a friend sign your child up for lessons.  You will need the following information to sign your child up for lessons:

• Name of parents
• Name of child
• Date of birth
• Phone number
• Any medical conditions we should be aware of
• Session and class time to be signed up for

• A backup session and time in case the first choice fills up

• Payment

A note about availability:

We are able to accommodate approximately 50 children in each class.  There are six classes offered in two sessions, which is approximately 600 spots for the entire program.  This number is due to the amount of instructors we are able to staff.  If we are able to accommodate more children after registration has completed we will post notification at the pool at least 7 days in advance to the late sign up.  Please do not ask us to add extra spots for your child as we must maintain a strict ratio of 5 children per instructor.

Session I	June 16 - July 3 Monday through Thursday
Session II	July 7 - July 24 Monday Through Thursday

All lessons are Monday through Thursday

**6 and older	6:15 - 6:45pm

**Evening lessons are intended to serve those families who find it impossible to attend morning classes.  Evening lessons must be reserved for children ages 6 and over.  NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE!!! We are only able to have children 6 and over in evening lessons due to the lack of pool space in the evening.

Private (individual) swimming lessons

Private swimming lessons are available upon request through individual instructors on a very limited basis.  **Private lessons are a service provided by the lifeguards on their free time and we do not guarantee their availability.**  Please contact a manager or front desk for details to fill out a private lesson request card.
